Numerate Consultant relaunches its Internet presence here at www.numer8.co.uk with a new in-house developed website for Linux web server using Apache Server, PHP with CSS style sheets, and MySQL.

Numerate Consultants Ltd accepts a follow on task based order from MBDA Missile Systems to provide requirements test definitions for a Future Missile System performance model. This follows on from an earlier requirements capture task using DOORS 9.2. Numerate Consultants accepts a follow on order from Technology Project Services to provide technical consultancy support services including trials support, definition, verification and validation of requirements for a major UK Defence contract.

Numerate Consultants have again been successful in their bid to participate in the MoD DE&S Multi-Participant Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS). We accepted an invitation to participate in FATS for the third time under Agreement FATS/3/NUMC. We also qualified in a number of the new FATS/3 Duty of Care categories

Numerate Consultants Ltd accepts an order from Technology Project Services to provide 12 months technical consultancy support services including trials support, definition, verification and validation of requirements for a major UK Defence contract.

" FATS/1 had over 180 suppliers as members with expertise in over 288 capability areas. Having first sought MOD internal resources for the task, (e.g. TES in the DE&S), FATS should be used for all technical support tasks, unless covered by the Long Term Partnering Agreement (LTPA). The [MoD] Customer is still responsible for negotiation and placing each task, but FATS makes contracting faster and more efficient through pre-agreed overall terms and conditions, and pre-agreed rates; it also employs a standard tasking form. Each members areas of expertise are listed in a Market Knowledge Matrix (MKM), thereby identifying competition." -MoD Acquisition Management Site (AMS) www.ams.mod.uk.

Numerate Consultants win a small contract to provide Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) expertise to DE&S under tasking FTS1/RMG/5029 via our agreement FATS/1/116 with the MoD.

Numerate Consultants providing Systems Engineering support to Metronet Rail Sub Surface Lines (SSL) Ltd as part of the Capability Enhancement Programme for the London Underground SSL network. The SSL network comprises the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines and is part of the £30b upgrade of the London Underground network under a Public Private Partnership. The SSL upgrade includes new signalling, infrastructure and 190 new tube trains.

Numerate Consultants tasked to provide modelling support for a Safety Modeling Report for the MBDA Seawolf Block 2 Missile final Certificate of Design.

Feb

Numerate Consultants Contractor Code (aka GAX code) 52270 00 with the Defence Bills Agency (DBA) is reactivated.

Numerate Consultants are now a Registered Trading Partner of the MODs Defence Electronic Commerce Service (DECS). We now have the ability to trade electronically with MoD using Purchase to Payment (P2P) via DECS and Exostar. This allows MOD to place a purchase order (PO) on us, allows us to accept the PO, print electronic bar codes for delivery and invoice the MOD. Finally the Defence Bills Agency (DBA) can pay us electronically through BACS. Exostar also allows us to trade with a multitude of Aerospace and Defence companies already trading on their electronic trading system.

Numerate Consultants moved into a new office in the Innovation Centre, a purpose built three storey office complex comprising 41 office units with air cooling and fully equipped meeting rooms. It is located on the University of Hertfordshire College Lane Campus just off Junc 3 of the A1(M) at Hatfield and has easy access to the A1, M25 and local transport routes . There is 24/7 card access building entry system and 24 hour round the clock on site security. We also have access to UH facilities: catering, library and state-of-the-art sports facilities.

Numerate Consultants attend the Deploying Defence Procurement Exhibition in London.

Numerate Consultants completed six years involvement with Sula Systems and MBDA providing support to the successful £370M Block 2 Seawolf Missile Programme. Seawolf is a fully automatic close area defence anti missile system that first entered service with the Royal Navy in 1979. The Block 2 contract, let in 2000, was a full scale mid-life modernisation and re engineering exercise as part of a through life technology insertion programme.
Our contribution started in 2000 producing requirement specifications for models of the new Dart missile and its subsystems. This was followed by involvement in the modelling of missile performance and dynamic safety studies. It included producing study specifications, analysis of results and writing assessment reports. We were particularly pleased to have been involved as the Block 2 programme met its original in service date when the VL missile variant entered service in July 2005. The Block 2 programme at MBDA is winding down now. It was a pleasure working with the Systems Team at Filton and all the other engineers involved with Block 2 at MBDA.

Numerate Consultants accepts invitation to participate in the Multi-Participant Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS) under Agreement FATS/1/116. The benefits of FATS are easier and faster placing of new technical support contracts because of:

pre-agreed Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) between Numerate Consultants and MoD;
pre agreed rates for various manpower categories;
standardised forms.

Tony Jones joins Numerate Consultants as Technical Director. He brings with him over a decade of experience in Naval Combat Systems and continues to provide requirements support to MBDA UK on their PAAMS(S) programme.
